Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i3 Participants with dyslexia were significantly slower in identifying digits than controls, with a large effect size. → Bert De Smedt 2010

Speeded digit identification control task (20 trials, digits 0–9) in the dyslexia-control study, with accuracy above 99% in both groups. The dyslexia group's slower digit naming (d = 1.32) motivated including digit identification speed as a covariate in arithmetic reaction-time analyses.

"Participants with developmental dyslexia ( M = 542 ms; SD = 75) were significantly slower in identifying digits than controls ( M = 467 ms; SD = 33; t(48) = 4.59, p < .01, d = 1.32)."
