Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? With only area trials of the confidence task, correlations with Winner and Ask choices emerged as predicted by the SDT/Simulation account, but Endorse choices did not correlate. → Carolyn Baer 2021

Experiment 2 (N = 81 children, ages 4–7) replicated Experiment 1 using only the 15 area trials of the confidence task to reduce fatigue. Correlations controlling for age were significant for Winner and Ask choices but not Endorse choices, per Table 2.
"In contrast to Experiment 1, and as predicted by the SDT/Simulation account, the Confidence Task correlated with both the Winner and Ask choices, but not with Endorse choices (see Table 2, all correlations controlling for age)."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Children do not reliably endorse the more accurate informant when no objective reference is available
- Area discrimination accuracy does not predict children's social judgments; age, not shared decision imprecision, accounts for the task correlations — related
- Children's self-focused confidence reasoning and other-focused accuracy reasoning show no consistent correlation across four studies when mental-state language and response biases are eliminated — related
- Children aged 6–7 reliably identify the contestant whose copied shapes are closer in size to a target, replicating magnitude-of-error selective social learning — related
