Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i2 Across tutoring conditions, MD-only students achieved higher posttest fact retrieval than MDRD students (ES = 0.47). → Powell 2009

Posttest ANCOVA main effect for MD subtype was significant, F(1,127) = 14.95, p < .0002; Table 3 reports an MD-only versus MDRD effect size of 0.47 (CI 0.13 to 0.81). The trial randomized 139 third graders.

"Follow-up tests indicated that MD-only students outperformed MDRD students (p < .0002), and the two fact retrieval tutoring groups outperformed the comparison students"
