q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q2 i? At M1, metacognition appeared less generalizable across the text and Kanji tasks than at M2, with all fourth-grade profiles generalizable at M2. → Mariëtte van Loon 2024

Mariëtte van Loon, Claudia M. Roebers. (2024). Development of metacognitive monitoring and control skills in elementary school: a latent profile approach. Metacognition and Learning. https://doi.org/10.1007/s11409-024-09400-2

Comparison of LPA profile shapes across tasks and time points: at M1, second graders' profiles varied mainly on the text task and one fourth-grade profile (low Kanji monitoring) was task-specific, whereas at M2 profiles showed similar levels across both tasks. The authors note that by approximately age eleven metacognitive abilities "appeared generalizable rather than task-specific for all identified profiles".
"There was stronger evidence for H2 (expecting profiles with generalizable metacognitive skills across tasks) at M2 than M1, particularly among older age groups. At M2, all identified profiles showed generalizable metacognitive skills across tasks for fourth graders."

Related Claims¶
- Metacognition profile classifications differ between second and fourth graders — related
- Elementary school children show distinct latent profiles of procedural metacognition combining monitoring accuracy, restudy effectiveness, and decision accuracy across tasks — a broader claim this one bears on
- Task performance relates to metacognition profile membership at the first measurement point but not one year later — related
