q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q2 i3 Among 50 school girls studying words and figures for exact ordered reproduction, learning time and recall time correlated -.380 (P.E. .0816): longer learning time went with shorter recall time. → Myers 1913

q2 · i3 · associational · r1
Individual testing of 50 normal school girls who studied words and figures for exact ordered reproduction, with stop-watch timing of learning and recall. The study found "The correlation between the learning time and recall time was- —.380" with P.E. .0816; r = -.38 exceeds the |r| = .37 threshold for a large effect.
"The correlation between the learning time and recall time was- —.380 (P. E. .0816). This negative correlation indicates that when the learning time was high the recall time was low and vice versa."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Perfect reproducers tended to show longer learning times and shorter recall times than imperfect reproducers — related
- Unmeasured factors such as reluctance to seem slow, over-certainty, and persistence in recalling complicate time-based memory measures — related
- Earlier studies reported that quicker recall accompanied better memory results, but with little supporting evidence — related
- Recall time shows practically no correlation with accuracy of recall in college students (coefficient -.09) — related
