Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i? In Experiment 1B, 17 of 31 participants reported noticing a generation advantage after the first test, and most of these tied or showed a read advantage on the second test, more than expected by chance. → deWinstanley 2004

Replication with 31 educational psychology students using different textbook paragraphs, plus a written question about what participants noticed after the first test. Responses were coded for noticing a generation advantage [chi-square(1) = 4.77, p < .05]; participants who did not comment showed no such pattern [chi-square(1) = 0.29, p < .50].

"Of the 17 participants who had noticed the generation advantage, 13 either tied or showed a read advantage in their performance on the second test, which, according to a chi-square test is more than would be expected by chance"
