q3 i3 The portfolio-principles class had significantly higher scores on number of high-level explanations and on weighted depth of explanation than the other two classes. → Eddy Y.C. Lee 2006

Student responses coded on a 7-point depth-of-explanation scale (inter-rater reliability .83) were compared across the three Knowledge Forum classes. High-level explanations differed with η² = .17, a large effect by the η² threshold; weighted depth of explanation also differed, F (2, 107) = 6.2, p < .01, η² = .10, favoring the portfolio-principles class.
"Multivariate analyses and Univariate analyses showed significant differences across classes, F (2, 107) = 10.66, p < .001, )2 = .17; paired-comparisons showed that the Knowledge Forum class with portfolio and principles had significantly higher mean scores than the other two classes."
