Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q2 i? The only FDR-corrected pairwise session difference was sessions 1 vs 2 in the lateral inferior pre-CG cluster (t(17) = −3.038, p < 0.01; q = 0.04). → Romanovska 2022

Post-hoc paired-samples t-tests on individual beta values from the same longitudinal fMRI sample. With Benjamini-Hochberg FDR correction, only the sessions 1–2 pre-CG contrast survived; sessions 1–3 pre-CG (q = 0.06) and sessions 1–2 left STG (q = 0.08) were uncorrected-level only.
"pairwise session comparisons only yielded a significant difference between sessions 1 and 2 in the lateral inferior pre-CG cluster (t(17) = −3.038, p < 0.01; q = 0.04), while at uncorrected level, activation in this cluster also differed between sessions 1 and 3"
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Cortical activation in left STG and lateral inferior precentral gyrus shows non-linear developmental change across three yearly fMRI sessions in 8–11-year-old children — a broader claim this one bears on
- Cortical activation changes were not linked to reading fluency or phoneme perception, and pre-CG showed no significant covariate interactions — related
- Left STG developmental activation change interacts with baseline age: younger children peak at session 2, older children show more activation at session 3 — related
