Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i? The study replicated established links between WM, symbolic number processing, and both arithmetic and numeracy in adults. → Skagerlund K 2019

Authors' summary of the fitted SEM results (N = 170 adults): WM and symbolic number processing (one- and two-digit comparison) both predicted arithmetic and numeracy. Descriptive correlations in Table 1 include arithmetic–2-DC r = -.48 and arithmetic–WM subtests r = .40–.45.

"As expected, we replicated previous research establishing strong links between WM, numeracy and arithmetic ability (e.g., [20]). Similarly, we replicate findings that have established links between symbolic number processing and arithmetic and numeracy in adults [41]."
