Accumulative Crosswise-Validation Analysis: within-row and between-column validity measurement¶

Description¶
Crosswise-Validation is AMOVA's core analytic operation, yielding sequential instrumentation validation outcomes analogous to ANOVA F-test critical values. The article defines it as "a measure of validity that is taken across items in rows representing 'within' categorical clusters of data and down columns of data in groups representing an overall 'between' items validation analysis". Weighted within-group means (per category) are accumulated into a between-groups total mean to produce the final m-value used to judge instrument efficacy.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Items must be arranged in categorical clusters permitting row (within) and column (between) aggregation
- Item weights assigned via the Taxonomy of Process Education Self-Growth scale
Constraints¶
Target Learners¶
- researchers validating psychometric instruments
Target Learning Goals¶
- within-cluster and between-group instrument validity assessment
