Description¶
The learner log is a proposed component of the FTS implementation that should contain information related to Learner-game and Learner-teacher interaction. From learner-game interaction, "individual data such as the time -spent on game -play, number of attempts and progress report should be captured by an e -learning system". From learner-teacher interaction, the e-learning system should capture information enabling the teacher to monitor individual player-learners' progress and respond appropriately, including determining an appropriate fading rate and when peer collaboration becomes expedient.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- An e-learning system compatible with the game design tools to capture interaction data
Constraints¶
- The paper states this is a challenge because most game design tools are not compatible with the available e-learning systems
Target Learners¶
- Children playing serious games in classrooms
- Teachers monitoring individual player-learner progress
Target Learning Goals¶
- Monitoring learner progress to inform fading decisions and teacher responses
