Description

A translated and psychometrically validated 23-item, 3-point self-report assessment developed by Chen et al. for measuring habitual sleep disturbance in children aged approximately 7–12 years.

Components

  • Chinese version of the Sleep Self-Report (SSR) with validated psychometrics: The Sleep Self-Report is a 23-item, 3-point self-report questionnaire assessing children's sleep habits and disturbance, with higher summed scores indicating more disturbed sleep. The authors developed a Chinese version by translation and back-translation and validated it in a separate sample: "Another 433 Chinese children (7–12 y ears old) were recruited to test the psychometric properties of the Chinese version, revealing that the Cronbach's α was 0.82 and retest-reliability (ICC) was 0.87." In the main study it served as the sleep disturbance measure for 204 children. (Chen Y et al. (2021))
