Description¶
An Education Trust interactive web tool for examining and comparing four-year college graduation rates, including trends and outcomes for diverse student groups.
Components¶
- College Results Online interactive database of four-year college graduation rates: College Results Online (www.collegeresults.org) is an interactive tool providing graduation-rate information for most four-year colleges and universities. It lets users "Examine graduation rates and see how these rates have changed over time," compare similar colleges serving similar students, and learn about institutions' track records in graduating diverse groups of students. This study's data draw on the CRO dataset alongside IPEDS. (Mary Nguyen et al. (2012))
- College Results Online web tool comparing four-year colleges' graduation rates within peer groups: College Results Online (CRO, www.collegeresults.org) is an Education Trust web tool that "compares each four-year college's graduation rate, disaggregated among demographic groups, relative to its peer institutions." Each peer group is determined by an algorithm of 14 variables, including measures of selectivity, student demographics, and institution size and sector, shown in research to correlate with graduation rates. The report proposes CRO peer groups as a benchmarking mechanism for states setting institutional eligibility standards for state grant funds, with both a performance floor and an upper limit above which colleges automatically qualify. (Michael Dannenberg et al. (2013))
