Description¶
A computer-based Stroop/Day-Night-adapted assessment for early primary school children that measures inhibitory control through 36 rule-reversal color-naming trials scored by accuracy.
Components¶
- Extended 36-trial Red-Blue Test of inhibitory control with reported reliability: The Red-Blue Test is a Stroop/Day-Night-adapted computer task in which children name colors according to a reversed rule on an alien planet, scoring correct answers given within 2 s. The authors extended the original 16-trial preschool version to 36 trials for early primary school children, reasoning that children make more errors in later trials and that reliability increases with trial number. They report that "With the increase of trial number, the current test has gained sufficient reliability (split-half r = 0.82, Cronbach α = 0.71)." (Chen Y et al. (2021))
