Description¶
NFTE's entrepreneurship education program, developed and run by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, uses project-based and experiential instruction to develop entrepreneurial-mindset skills alongside small-business-management knowledge.
Components¶
- NFTE's entrepreneurial mindset framework of eight core domains: NFTE conceptualizes the entrepreneurial mindset as a 21st century skill set comprising eight core domains: Future Orientation, Comfort with Risk, Opportunity Recognition, Initiative and Self-Reliance, Communication and Collaboration, Creativity and Innovation, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, and Flexibility and Adaptability. The report states that "an individual who acts and thinks like an entrepreneur has an entrepreneurial mindset." NFTE grounds the framework in the claim that non-cognitive skills are malleable and can improve with instruction, and its programs pair entrepreneurial-mindset skill growth with small-business-management content instruction.
