Description¶
PRISMA-LLM is a 16-item reporting framework proposed by Zabaleta et al. for authors, peer reviewers, and editors to document LLM-assisted systematic-review workflows, including methods, oversight, evaluation, disclosure, and reproducibility.
Components¶
- PRISMA-LLM 16-item universal reporting checklist (Table 1): The PRISMA-LLM checklist is a page-sized, user-facing set of 16 items (LLM-1 through LLM-16) spanning identification, rationale, methods, results, discussion, availability, and disclosure sections. It asks authors to report system identity and version, task and disclosure level, inputs and document processing, prompts and settings, outputs and post-processing, human oversight, evaluation and errors, limitations, reproducibility materials, and support or competing interests. It is "intended to be used alongside PRISMA 2020 rather than as a replacement for it." (Zabaleta et al. (2026))
Claims¶
- Since 2023, software/product papers report markedly less evaluation detail than LLM papers in review automation [+W]
- The software-product reporting gap persists within each review stage, and reported precision and recall vary widely across approaches [+W]
