Description¶
PyramidApp is a web-based collaborative-learning platform developed by Ishari Amarasinghe, Davinia Hernández-Leo, and H. Ulrich Hoppe that supports activity authoring, student enactment, and teacher-facing learning-analytics guidance.
Components¶
- PyramidApp with teacher-facing mirroring and guiding dashboard: PyramidApp is a web-based tool implementing a version of the Pyramid collaborative script, providing "an activity authoring space and a teacher-facing LA dashboard for teachers as well as an activity enactment space for students". Teachers configure class size, group size, pyramid levels, durations, and up to 10 expected keywords, and can enable automatic alerts. The dashboard has Responses Related and Participation Related tabs, a timeline with remaining-time countdown, runtime controls (increase time, pause, next level, end), and supporting posting predefined messages to groups. The guiding support adds an alert mechanism flagging critical moments such as missing keywords, skipped submissions, and insufficient remaining submission or voting time.
