Description¶
Benchmark datasets constructed by Zhiwei Yang et al. containing annotated senior-secondary biology and physics exercises for cross-discipline validation of knowledge concept tagging, knowledge tracing, cognitive diagnosis, and recommendation methods.
Components¶
- S Bio and S Phy: two new knowledge concept tagging datasets for cross-discipline validation: The authors constructed two new benchmark datasets to address the lack of validation data outside mathematics: "we construct two new datasets, i.e., S Bio and S Phy, which will be made available to fill the gap in cross-validation of knowledge concept tagging methods across different disciplines". S Bio contains 9,941 exercises with 72 concept categories for grades 10-12, and S Phy contains 18,440 exercises with 135 categories for grades 10-12; both include questions, solutions, difficulty scores, and knowledge concepts, split 8:1:1 into training, validation and test sets with balanced concept distributions. Unsupervised corpora U Bio (15,669) and U Phy (32,138) support continued pre-training. (Zhiwei Yang et al. (2026))
