Description¶
Saga Math is an in-school, high-dosage mathematics tutoring programme for secondary students, offered in small-group traditional and technology-enhanced models and implemented by Saga Education.
Components¶
- Saga Math high-dosage tutoring program (traditional and technology-enhanced models): Saga Math is a supplemental in-school math tutoring program for 9th and 10th graders offered in a traditional model at 1:2 ("research-proven"), 1:3, or 1:4 tutor-to-student ratios, and a technology-enhanced model at up to 1:8 in which half the students work with the tutor while the other half use "a computer-assisted learning platform called ALEKS", switching every other session. Tutoring is embedded in the school schedule at least three times weekly for 90 minutes total, aligned to Common Core standards, with tutorial instruction informed by assessments, observations, and progress-monitoring data.
