Description¶
Spanish MAP Reading Fluency is NWEA's adaptive Spanish-language assessment for oral reading fluency and foundational reading skills, administered in group settings with automatic speech scoring and reports for educators.
Components¶
- Spanish MAP Reading Fluency adaptive group-administered assessment with automatic speech scoring: Spanish MAP Reading Fluency is "an adaptive assessment that supports students on their path to reading comprehension by assessing and helping to improve both oral reading fluency and foundational reading skills." Students take a 20-minute benchmark up to three times a year in group setting, wearing headsets; audio "is recorded and scored automatically by the speech scoring engine, rather than relying on human judgment and individual administration." Reports give proficiency relative to grade-level expectations, an individualized literacy profile, and recommended next steps. (NWEA (2025))
- Spanish MAP Reading Fluency adaptive oral reading assessment: Spanish MAP Reading Fluency is a 20-minute benchmark assessment administered up to three times a year that "can be administered in a group setting rather than one-on-one." Students wear headsets, read aloud, and "the audio is recorded and scored automatically by the speech scoring engine rather than relying on human judgment and individual administration." It adapts across pre-readers, early readers, and independent readers, and reports proficiency determinations, an individualized literacy profile, and recommended next steps, with most results appearing immediately.
