Description¶
A professional competency framework developed by the UK Haemophilia Nurses Association that defines five domains and four practice levels for assessing and supporting the development of haemophilia specialist nurses.
Components¶
- HNA five-domain competency framework for haemophilia specialist nurses with four levels of practice: The UK Haemophilia Nurses Association competency framework organises haemophilia specialist nursing competence into five domains — clinical knowledge, clinical/direct care, communication and support, collaborative practice, and research — "supported by indicators for four levels of practice (beginner, competent, proficient and expert)". Each level's indicators provide a standard against which nurses can measure their personal practice, developed through three regional workshops with 66 nurses and consensus ranking of competence against time in practice. It updates the 2014 framework within Health Education England's multiprofessional advanced clinical practice structure. (Pollard D et al. (2020))
