Description¶
Zearn Math is a nonprofit-developed online supplemental K–8 mathematics curriculum and digital learning program used during math instruction, intervention, and tutoring.
Components¶
- Zearn Math adaptive digital lessons with CPA progression and mastery-based quizzes: Zearn Math is a nonprofit online supplemental program for grades K-8 in which students complete adaptive digital math lessons during math blocks, intervention periods, or tutoring. Each lesson combines procedural fluency activities, guided video lessons following a "Concrete-to-Pictorial-to-Abstract (CPA) progression", and a closing quiz on which "students must score 100% in order to advance to the next lesson". Lessons "adapt in real time to provide personalized feedback and scaffolding" while keeping students on grade-level content. (Zearn Math evidence review (2024))
- Zearn professional development and coaching supports for educators and school leaders: Zearn offers professional development through live onsite and virtual sessions that help educators launch the program and use data to identify student needs, with foundational and advanced sessions tailored to implementation goals. It also provides on-demand professional development building pedagogical content knowledge for each K-5 math unit, a library of asynchronous resources including webinars and tutorials, and optional school-based coaching to help establish strong usage routines and support data-driven implementation.
