Plan mutual accountability for implementation, including rollout plans, educator supports, and early indicators for pivoting¶
Strategy · All strategies

Description¶
The presentation directs districts and providers to establish mutual accountability during implementation: districts commit to a rollout plan developed with the right people, address technical needs, put professional learning and educator supports in place, follow the provider's implementation recommendations, and track fidelity. Teams should identify "early indicators that implementation is not going as planned" and strategies to pivot to ensure effective use, treating the district-provider relationship as a partnership.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Professional learning and educator supports must be in place, and technical needs must be addressed, for implementation to succeed
Constraints¶
Target Learners¶
- K-12 students and the educators implementing the procured edtech
Target Learning Goals¶
- Effective edtech implementation with fidelity to achieve contracted outcomes
Related Strategies¶
- Support future edtech OBC cohorts with readiness assessments, early planning, needs-assessment framing, and cross-cohort collaboration
- Structure OBC procurement around intentionality questions on learner goals, populations, outcomes, and stakeholders
- Use OBC RFP templates with market validators and ESSA evidence tiers as efficacy criteria
- Monitor tutoring implementation and attendance regularly during program rollout
- Implement Learning Genie with classroom teachers in regular workflow plus a site- or district-level implementation lead
- Support district implementations of adaptive reading programs with a milestone-based implementation plan and ongoing data-informed coaching
- Implement Learning Genie with initial training on observation-based assessment and ongoing technical assistance
- Evaluate AI systems before deploying them with students
- Strengthen implementation scaffolding for new edtech rollouts with routines, guided practice, and change management grounded in observed workflows
- Establish an inclusive AI task force before revising responsible use policies
