Description¶
The review recommends that "future research in SR should be directed to evaluate standard methods of reporting SR outcomes." This recommendation arises from the limitation that "The SR outcome measures were not uniform, and there was substantial heterogeneity in their reporting," which precluded quantitative synthesis of distal outcomes and produced high heterogeneity (I2 = 77%) in the primary meta-analysis. Standardized reporting would enable more reliable pooled estimates and clearer conclusions about intervention effectiveness across studies.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Future studies should adopt uniform SR outcome measures and reporting standards
Constraints¶
- Current evidence base has substantial heterogeneity in SR outcome measure reporting
Target Learners¶
- Researchers and meta-analysts evaluating self-regulation interventions in children and adolescents
Target Learning Goals¶
- Improved comparability and synthesis of self-regulation intervention effectiveness evidence
