Description

The article proposes four imperatives for fostering collaboration across the branches of library and information science: "Stay with a problem to develop concepts", apply the field's conceptual framework to findings, develop research projects of interest to more than one area, and design application of concepts for implementation into systems and services. The framework responds to the finding that scholars in different branches do not cite or read each other, which "severely limits our ability to solve users' information problems".
