Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i? Equation memory, coordinate plane PAE, and expression evaluation speed and accuracy each predicted algebra achievement in independent regressions (βs = .170 to .349) and when simultaneously entered (βs = .100 to .272). → Geary David C. 2015

External validity regressions in the 171-student sample, controlling parental education, sex, reading, processing speed, intelligence, and central executive. Each algebraic cognition measure "predicts algebra achievement in independent regression equations" (βs = .170 to .349); reading and intelligence were the only consistent covariate predictors.

"Results from the associated regression equations shown in Table 4 confirm that each of the algebraic cognition measures predicts algebra achievement in independent regression equations (βs = .170 to .349, ps<.007) and when simultaneously included in a single equation (βs = .100 to .272, ps<.078)."
