Subclaims¶
Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? The behavioral teacher questionnaire measure of inhibition was not significantly correlated with the two cognitive stroop measures of inhibition. → Bellon E 2016

Correlational analysis in 86 third graders; the BRIEF inhibition subscale (10 items, α = 0.94) showed no significant correlation with any other measure, consistent with prior reports that ratings and performance measures tap different aspects.
"All experimental measures that were thought to measure the same underlying component – i.e., the numerical magnitude processing tasks and the inhibition tasks – were significantly correlated with each other, except for the behavioral measure of inhibition (i.e., BRIEF questionnaire), which was not significantly correlated with the two cognitive measures of inhibition (i.e., stroop tasks)."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Cognitive inhibition is not significantly associated with arithmetic fact retrieval in typically developing third graders — related
- Inhibition does not uniquely predict arithmetic fact retrieval above numerical magnitude processing — related
- Non-symbolic magnitude processing shows mixed associations with inhibition measures — related
- Inhibition's role in arithmetic fact retrieval may be limited to atypically developing children — related
- Baseline intercorrelations among the six tests were small, suggesting the battery covered relatively independent cognitive processes — related
- Task-based and questionnaire-based EF measures show consistently low correlations and may assess partially distinct phenomena — a broader claim this one bears on
- Phasic, not tonic, EDA correlates with cognitive stress in a reported diver study — related
