Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q2 i? Situational interest was higher after free-recall than after short-answer retrieval practice, and recall performance differences positively predicted interest differences. → Tino Endres 2020

In the 54-participant within-subject study, situational interest (three items, α = 0.827) was higher after free-recall (ƞ2 = 0.208). Regression showed test-for-learning performance predicted interest (b = 0.33, p = 0.014, R2 = 0.11); MEMORE mediation via performance was complete (B = 0.83, 95% CI [0.20, 1.77]).
"Learners exhibited deeper situational interest after a free-recall task. A stronger experience of success predicted greater situational interest."

- Holistic retrieval via free-recall raises self-efficacy, fully mediated by performance during retrieval practice — related
- Targeted retrieval via specific short-answer tasks improves retention of directly targeted information more than holistic retrieval via free-recall tasks — related
- Holistic retrieval via free-recall improves retention of non-targeted information, but only on the free-recall posttest — related
- Overall posttest performance does not differ between targeted and holistic retrieval conditions — related
