Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? There was a large, statistically significant overlap between observer, student, and teacher self-reported levels of teacher agency. → Donker 2021
q3 i? There was no significant association between observed and teacher self-reported communion, against what a shared expert role would imply. → Donker 2021

Correlational analyses at the teacher/class level in Mplus, accounting for students nested in teachers, for 80 teachers. The study found "no significant association between the observed and teachers’ self-reported levels of communion", while agency showed large overlap across the three perspectives.
"Interestingly, and against what a shared expert role of teacher and observer would imply, there was no significant association between the observed and teachers’ self-reported levels of communion, suggesting that teachers perceived their communion differently from what was observed."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Same-rater associations between teacher behavior ratings and emotions are unlikely to result from common-method bias only — related
- Teacher communion is a stronger predictor of student emotions than teacher agency — related
- Standard multiple regression analyses showed suppressor effects that the novel correction method revealed and corrected — related
- Perspectives on teacher behavior are not interchangeable: combining observer and student perspectives on agency approximates the teacher perspective for teacher emotions, while students' own perspective is irreplaceable for student emotions — related
