Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i? Eighth-grade students learning with related decorative pictures showed higher absolute accuracy (AC) and better discrimination (DIS) of confidence judgments for knowledge items than students learning without pictures. → Demian Scherer 2023

Randomized experiment with 75 eight-graders (n = 29 with pictures, n = 27 without after exclusions). Table 3 reports AC t(54) = 2.56, p = .013 and DIS t(54) = 2.31, p = .025 for knowledge items; bias did not differ between groups.

"Participants in the condition with related decorative pictures had a higher absolute accuracy (AC) of confidence judgments and showed a better discrimination of correct and incorrect responses (DIS) based on the confidence ratings (see Table 3)."
