Description

LERs are private, secure digital applications—digital wallets or lockers—that can "digitally curate and electronically verify a record of an individual's skills, competencies, credentials, and employment history across a lifetime". The National Student Clearinghouse calls LERs the transcript of the future. The publication argues records of K-12 learning should become three-dimensional, competency-based, and controlled by learners rather than institutions, and describes momentum including the T3 Innovation Network's more than 500 partners and statewide pilots in six states with NGA and JFF.
