Description¶
An online course format for recovering Algebra I credit, evaluated in a randomized trial against face-to-face credit recovery with 1,224 ninth-graders in 17 Chicago public high schools. Students taking the online course "reported that the course was more difficult" than face-to-face students, "were less likely to recover credit and scored lower on an algebra post-test." The article discusses the benefits and challenges of online learning for credit recovery in light of these findings.
