Use individualized survey reports disaggregated by student type to target AVID program improvement areas¶
Strategy · All strategies

Description¶
The report recommends that AVID site teams use the individualized survey report to guide goal setting: assess the school overall against other AVID schools, examine how the program impacts high versus low achieving, male versus female, and ninth versus tenth grade students, and use the detailed measure sections to identify strengths and weaknesses. Schools are prompted to ask "Which groups of students is your AVID program supporting the best?" and "Who could you support better?" in order to "carefully target areas for improvement."
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Access to the individualized school report and its school-by-school comparisons
- A school AVID team willing to set improvement goals from the data
Constraints¶
- Overall ratings are relative to other AVID schools, so detailed sections must also be examined
Target Learners¶
- AVID site teams, teachers, and administrators in CPS high schools
Target Learning Goals¶
- Evaluating and improving AVID program implementation and equity of student experience
Related Strategies¶
- Use survey profiles, discussion questions, and the Details report to guide school improvement deliberations
- Return individual school survey profiles to stimulate local school improvement discussions
