Use survey profiles, discussion questions, and the Details report to guide school improvement deliberations¶

Description¶
The report recommends using its profiles to "stimulate discussion among your school's leadership team, teachers and members of the local school council (LSC) about instructional priorities and current performance", including deciding on professional supports, community-resource integration, and safety attention. Each measure section includes TO CONSIDER discussion questions, and the Details report lets schools investigate why a measure is low by examining item-level responses, such as which physical areas students find least safe.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- A school report with sufficient response rates, plus the companion Details report for item-level investigation
Constraints¶
- The discussion questions are explicitly not an exhaustive list of issues a school may consider
Target Learners¶
- school leadership teams, teachers, principals, and local school council members
Target Learning Goals¶
- identifying strengths and weaknesses in the Five Fundamentals and planning SIPAAA improvement actions
Affordances¶
Related Strategies¶
- Use individualized survey reports disaggregated by student type to target AVID program improvement areas
- Distribute report review across staff committees to streamline school self-analysis
- Return individual school survey profiles to stimulate local school improvement discussions
- Parents and LSC members partner with principals by learning the leadership team, reviewing the CIWP and school data, and fostering a welcoming school culture
