Description

The TLC "brings together groups of three or four teachers over two full school days, separated by one to three weeks": day one plans or chooses a conceptual flow, selects a learning sequence, and develops a 5E lesson; day two teaches the lesson, debriefs using facilitator notes and student work sorted into performance piles, revises the lesson, and re-teaches it to another class. Originally developed by the K-12 Alliance in 1995, it is a lesson-study approach based on the knowledge that the most effective professional development occurs closest to the classroom. All Teacher Leaders participate in two TLCs per school year.
