Description¶
The Wilson Reading System is implemented through "a formal professional development process" including group instruction, coaching, telephone consultation, and independent study using the Wilson Academy online course. In the reviewed study, intervention teachers averaged 62.5 professional development hours across an initial training phase, practice phase, and implementation phase. Implementation fidelity was examined by program trainers who observed and coached teachers, project coordinators observing instructional sessions, and ratings of videotaped sessions, and implementation was rated as acceptable.
