The electric bike vision of human-centered educational technology¶

Description¶
The presentation articulates a framing metaphor for AI in education drawn from the Office of Ed Tech report: we envision a technology enhanced future more like an electric bike and less like robot vacuums. On an electric bike, the human is fully aware and fully in control, but their burden is less, and their effort is multiplied by the supporting technology. This contrasts with automation that removes human agency from the loop.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- technology must leave the human fully aware and fully in control while reducing burden and multiplying effort
Constraints¶
Target Learners¶
- K-12 students
- teachers
- district leaders
Target Learning Objectives¶
- human-centered adoption of AI in teaching and learning
Claims¶
