Cluster-randomized study in six Rocketship public charter schools in Northern California; cohorts of first through fourth grade students randomly assigned within grades. The final sample included 1,777 students (n=959 treatment, 818 control), and the treatment group showed significantly more growth than the control group on the NWEA MAP, with a printed effect size of ES = +0.05.
"After 12 weeks, students in cohorts assigned to receive BookNook demonstrated significantly more growth than the control group on the NWEA MAP (ES = +0.05), qualifying BookNook for a “Strong” rating."
