The PCER Consortium (2008) randomized trial (14 classrooms, 198 children) assessed math with the WJ-III Applied Problems subtest, the CMA-A Composite Score, and the Building Blocks Shape Composition task. Appendix C.4 reports effect sizes of 0.18, 0.10, and -0.07, all p > 0.05; the domain average is 0.07, an indeterminate effect.
"The authors reported that differences between the Bright Beginnings group and the comparison group were not statistically significant, and according to WWC criteria, were not large enough to be considered substantively important."
