Subclaims¶
Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? No effect of current or previous trial feedback RPEs on memory was found in either condition. → Maria A. Woitow 2026

One-sample and paired-samples t-tests on feedback RPE slopes in 79 participants found no effect of current or previous feedback on memory in either condition (ps ≥ 0.054, corrected α = 0.0125); unsigned feedback RPEs and surprise/uncertainty parameters also showed no effect.
"We found no effect of the current (t) or previous trial ’s( t - 1 ) feedback on memory in either condition (Fig. 4c; ps ≥ 0.054; αcorrected= 0.0125, Supplementary Table 16)"
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Reward prediction errors are positively correlated with putamen, vmPFC, amygdala and posterior cingulate and anticorrelated with aIns, dmPFC and dlPFC — related
- Positive image reward prediction errors during gambling or observed gambling selectively enhance memory in both experiential and observational learning — reports the opposite
- The overall main effect of prediction error on recognition memory, independent of prediction outcome, is not significant — related
- Group-by-RPE interaction in the anterior insula without a general group effect in overall activation — related
- Adolescents show increased anterior insula responses specifically to negative reward prediction errors — related
- Pairing tVNS with feedback after correct responses does not enhance speech category learning, suggesting the enhancement is not driven by a reward signal — related
