Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q3 i? Yuen's test post hoc comparisons showed OSFA participants made fewer mistakes per assessment item than Personalized participants at session 1 (t = -1.9778; p = 0.04341), with no difference at session 0. → Rodrigues Luiz 2023

Preliminary robust ANOVA on performance (errors per assessment) found design's main effect nonsignificant (F(1 24.8985) = 0.9042; p = 0.35) but the design-by-session interaction statistically significant (p = 0.0041); post hoc Yuen's tests showed the session-1 difference described in "made fewer mistakes per assessment item". No effect size was printed.
"The results provide evidence that participants of the OSFA condition made fewer mistakes per assessment item (M = 0.964; SD = 0.509) than those of the Personalized condition (M = 1.19; SD = 0.459)."
Discussion¶
Related Claims¶
- Multidimensional personalization of gamification produced no statistically significant motivational differences from OSFA gamification in gamified review assessments — related
- Performance moderated personalization's effect on external motivation, correlating positively with external motivation only in the OSFA condition — related
- Personalized TMR improves error correction (higher incorrect-to-correct transitions) and reduces persistence of incorrect responses, mainly for challenging items — related
- Error rates per completed problem-solving step did not significantly differ between conditions — reports the opposite
- Preferred game genre (adventure) and preferred playing setting (singleplayer) moderated personalization's effect, in both cases in favor of OSFA — related
