Description

The report frames equity-relevant research through two concepts: equity "respects variability among learners" including differences in strengths, needs, experiences, and opportunities, and equity respects that education occurs in systems that "work differentially well for groups of students that share common features of their identity." Its conventional summary is that such research answers not only what works but also "for whom and under what conditions." The framework draws on the IES SEER principles, whose ninth equity principle requires demonstrating how interventions address education inequities.
