Description

The A2PL intervention operates at three levels. At the Person level, learners reflect on aspirations and long-term vision of societal achievement and professional growth. At the Task level, "Learners and GAI co-create complex thinking tasks within real world scenarios that align with learners' aspirations". At the Person x Task level, learners construct a summative self-assessment framework by aligning identified ability, skill, and strategy gaps with task-aligned personal aims, fostering a more clearly defined strategic learning pathway. Starting from the second round, reflective practices adjust alignment and initiate a new SDL cycle.

Design Implications

Context

Requirements

  • GAI must refrain from disclosing that the assessment pertains directly to SDL, so learners' frameworks indicate internalized skills rather than prompted responses

Constraints

  • The article states success is contingent on whether learners' summative self-assessment frameworks reflect analytical cognition of SDL into the depth of its procedures and components

Target Learners

  • self-paced learners in non-synchronous online environments

Learning Goals

  • self-monitoring, self-regulation, self-reflection, and self-evaluation
  • strategically aligned personal learning pathways
