Description

The experimental treatment followed a recurring lesson pattern: students worked in subgroups of 5-6 to read cartoons, explain what they understood, express views on the presented issue, consider why it was presented that way, voice agreement or disagreement with the artist, and relate the issue to their local area. Students then "were asked to draw their own cartoons about water issue", with an award for the best cartoon. This combines interpretation, argumentation and creative production around a controversial topic.
