Design · All designs
Evidence · no claims cited
Description¶
The Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgiões training pathway is divided into a basic (pre-clinical) phase and an advanced (clinical) phase, ensuring progressive acquisition of theoretical knowledge and technical competencies. The basic phase includes theoretical training (≥30 hours), simulation training (≥20 hours), in-service exposure (≥4 hours), and procedural observation (≥5 robotic procedures). The advanced phase requires assistant participation (≥10 procedures), console surgery under supervision (≥10 procedures), and final evaluation by a qualified tutor.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Specialist qualification through an AMB-accredited programme or residency recognised by the Ministério da Educação
- Active Registro de Qualificação de Especialista (RQE)
Constraints¶
- The framework remains generic and not tailored to the specific demands of cardiac surgery
Target Learners¶
- Surgeons seeking robotic surgery certification in Brazil
Learning Goals¶
- Progressive acquisition of theoretical knowledge and technical competencies in robotic surgery
