Description

Based on observation during the intervention, the article lists strong points of CBI for children with learning disabilities: "Timely feedback or correction" of mistakes with mathematic symbols, individualized scaffolding possible in small groups, group scaffolding for perceptual and motoric problems done "without consuming too much time", and more frequent self-confidence, motivation, and courage to ask or answer questions. These are the authors' observed mechanisms, not separately tested outcomes.

Design Implications

Context

Constraints

  • Corrections of this kind are described as hardly possible in FII because many students might need the same scaffolding

Target Learners

  • students with learning disabilities in inclusive primary schools

Learning Goals

  • mathematics learning, cognitive engagement, learning confidence
