CCTDI-to-writing-rubric mapping framework linking critical thinking dispositions to writing performance indicators¶

Description¶
The study establishes a conceptual mapping between the California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) framework and a customized writing rubric, so that cognitive dispositions are measured through writing performance. As the article states, "the core CCTDI dimensions were operationalized into specific writing performance indicators" (e.g., Open-mindedness to Perspective Diversification & Bias Identification; Truth-seeking to Evidence Sourcing & Argumentation Depth). The framework was developed from the Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards for Chinese (2022 Edition) and refined through expert synthesis and teacher deliberation, underpinning both WISE Agent feedback generation and outcome measurement.
Design Implications¶

Target Learners¶
- Elementary students in a cognitive transition phase (grade 6)
Learning Goals¶
- Critical thinking dispositions expressed through writing quality and argumentation
