Description¶
An instructional setup in which the teacher projects vocabulary questions created in PowerPoint on a board, students respond by pressing the matching button on hand-held clickers that wirelessly transmit input to a receiver, and statistical results are displayed on the board after polling closes. In this study the Clicker Group voted on questions about 30 low-frequency or off-list words from James and the Giant Peach across five treatments of approximately 30 minutes each over two months, while the Non-Clicker Group answered by hand-raising or orally.
