Description¶
The article defines CLIL (content and language integrated learning) as a learning approach in which "there is a focus not only on content, and not only on language. Each is interwoven." Drawing on Coyle, Hood and Marsh, it presents CLIL as "an innovative fusion of both" subject and language education, related to but not synonymous with bilingual education, immersion, and content-based language teaching. The article uses this framework to frame its investigation of whether CLIL harms achievement in Galician or Spanish.
