Description

The study's treatment was worked into normal class structure: students could earn extra credit by reading or watching and summarizing eight comic strips or cartoons (three historical, five Sport Rivalry Man). To foster comprehension and retention, the class first watched one story of each type together and was "led in a brief discussion of rivalry and the stories." Notes required describing characters and scenarios and explaining in their own words what the comics meant.
